A GROVE OF TOWERING REDWOODS….

……PANORAMIC VIEWS…..

……A SPECIAL PLACE.

CHRIS AND BETSY, BOTH EXCEPTIONALLY TALENTED DESIGNERS AND ARTISTS, CAME TO US WITH A STUNNING SITE AND A SIMPLE REQUEST: TO ASSIST THEM WITH THE CREATION OF PLACE THAT THEY COULD USE AS BOTH DESIGN STUDIO AND WEEKEND RETREAT. WE BROUGHT OUR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN EXPERTISE TO HELP WITH THE CREATION OF AN EXTRAORDINARY PLACE FOUNDED IN THEIR DEDICATION TO A SINGULAR, UNIQUE VISION.

AS ONE APPROACHES, THE SIMPLE STRUCTURE REVEALS ITSELF AS AN EXTENSION OF THE SURROUNDING REDWOODS- THE EXTERIOR SIDING AND INTERIOR WALLS AN BOOKCASES ARE ALL MADE OF REDWOOD, RECLAIMED FROM A NEARBY DIRIGIBLE HANGAR- THE HOME IS INDEED A “TREEHOUSE.”

THE PRESENCE OF THE 3 STALL GARAGE IS MINIMIZED WITH CUSTOM DESIGNED GARAGE DOORS INCISED IN THE PLANE OF THE WALL

THE NORTH STUDIO WELCOMES WITH VIEWS TO THE PACIFIC AND THE BAY; BETSY AND CHRIS’S CAREFUL AND CONSIDERED SELECTION OF FURNISHINGS ENHANCE THE CONNECTION WITH NATURE, CREATING A WARM AND INVITING ENVIRONMENT

EVEN IN THE MOST INTIMATE SPACES OF THE HOUSE,

ONE IS CONNECTED WITH NATURE.

THE SOUTH STUDIO SERVES AS A WORK ROOM

THE 3 STALL GARAGE IS DESIGNED TO SERVE MULTIPLE FUNCTIONS INCLUDING AS A FABRIC DYING STUDIO AND WORK SPACE. A WALL OF BLACK SHUTTERS CONCEALS UTILITY ELEMENTS GIVING THE SPACE A HIGHLY FINISHED CHARACTER. CLICK THE IMAGE TO OPEN THE SHUTTERS.
